Paying out-of-pocket provides a client and/or family with confidentiality and more control over their services as the treatment is tailored to the client/family's needs and hopes rather than insurance rules or regulations. Therefore, assessment for a diagnosis is not required nor shared with an insurance program and the modality for services can be chosen based on what is clinically beneficial for the client and family's culture, needs, and desires.
Some clients/families seeking therapy services want or need to pay out-of-pocket but cannot meet the current standard rate for a variety of reasons. To make this service equitable Elizabeth does not require families to qualify or provide proof of need to utilize a sliding scale. Rather, specific appointment times are offered as sliding scale specific appointment times.
Clients are encouraged to ask Elizabeth before the start of services about the sliding scale to see if there are any current available sliding scale appointments.
Sliding scale is not offered for clients or families who receive insurance reimbursement for their services.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist most health plans will accept Elizabeth’s services for out-of-network coverage. When utilizing this form of coverage a client/family pays out-of-pocket rates at the start of each appointment and will receive an itemized insurance document called a Super-Bill once a month. These super-bills can be submitted by clients and families to their insurance directly to receive out-of-network benefits. To receive this, insurance typically requires that the client meet medical necessity and receive a qualifying diagnosis. Before starting service, Elizabeth can provide families with billing codes that they can use to call their insurance and clarify benefits information.
Elizabeth can bill out-of-network directly to OHP CareOregon clients between the ages of birth and 18 who meet certain criteria such as medical necessity.
Elizabeth is currently in-network with Regence for therapy services for minors.
Please be advised that starting in December 2024, I will no longer be in-network with BlueCross Blue Shield.
Elizabeth is passionate about helping mental health therapists new to the field build skills to recognize the early signs of vicarious trauma, create daily strategies to manage stress tolerance, and create healthy mindful resiliency skills. In addition to this, she remembers the emotional and financial cost of working in the field soon after graduation.
Because of this Elizabeth is excited to offer her consultation services for vicarious growth at a discounted rate of $75 for therapists who are within the first 2 years of their post-graduate work.
